Horseshoe Trail – Modern Pool House and Pool

New
April 3 2019

The architect-designed pool house was intended to be the first step of a ground-up weekend home development project. Acting in a build-only capacity, the scope was to build the pool and pool house and to anticipate the infrastructure that would be needed for the main house when it is built.

The land was sculpted to accommodate the pool and best take advantage of the site’s view. The pool was designed with an integrated patio, and careful attention had to be paid to deal with water management so the runoff from the hill and the roof didn’t spill into the pool.

The pool house itself is a small and tightly programmed building, complete with a bathroom and kitchenette. The two telescoping sliding doors kiss perfectly at the corner of the building and then open entirely, disappearing into a pocket on the side of the kitchen. The shower has an oversized skylight that makes the shower seem to be open to the outdoors.
